Description: This antique sterling necklace features a large pendant with either a Chinese or Tibetan figure sitting atop a large dragon-like foo dog. The rider wears a kimono style robe, perhaps a hanfu. He holds a unique item in each hand. The foo dog has a curling mane, a distinctive tongue, horns, and long legs that end with hooves. The front and the back are different and show the rider and foo dog from both sides. Four charms hang from the bottom of the pendant. At least 2 were originally bells. The pendant is a hollow form. The eyes are holes as is the mouth. These holes were necessary when soldering the front and back together. They allowed the steam to escape and the seams to solder closed. The pendant hangs from a chain with a clasp that hooks to the side of the large centerpiece. Measurements: 23” long when laid out and measured end to end. The centerpiece is 5-1/4” high including the dangles x 2-3/4” wide across the dragon. Unmarked. The pendant, chain, and dangles have been tested for purity and they are sterling silver at 925 or higher. Total weight: 71.8 grams. Condition: one of the bells has been squished, the matching bell has some small tears where the purposeful split ends, neither bell makes a sound by itself but tinkles when hitting the other dangles, 1 dangle appears to have filler of some kind as it can be seen where the silver has rubbed through. These problems are relatively minor when considering the entirety of his amazing piece. Shipping includes insurance and Signature Confirmation. H995
