This RARE, Mid 1870s antique Chinese vase features a cabbage leaf and butterfly design. The item is hand-painted with Chinese cultural symbols representing longevity, love, and happiness. In this culture, butterflies are seen as harbingers of good fortune and long life, underscoring the significance of symbolism. The Bok Choy and Butterfly Vase is a stunning piece Adorned with bright and dark green enamel that depicts the Bok Choy cabbage leaves Two vividly colored butterflies rest upon the leaves, adding a touch of whimsy Crafted from Chinese porcelain, its form mimics the Bok Choy plant Featuring four white stalks that transition into leafy greens at the top The vase's rim is scalloped, echoing the leafy edges It's beautifully painted and glazed in a palette of green, blue, and purple Has a striking turquoise blue interior RED MARKED Marked on the bottom, this rare vase features a red six-character Tongzhi seal mark. Qing Tongzhi Period It has a Tongzhi reign mark (1862-1874). Marked as 'Da Qing Tongzhi Nian Zhi,' which translates to 'Great Qing Tongzhi Period Made.'
