Description: An old Encyclopaedia Britannica envelope contains this selection of paper ephemera: One partial Godeys fashion style page from 1865, one Chicago Tribune full color page showing Russian scenes, one full color page showing Queen Elizabeth of over 400 years ago, and seven color pages featuring “Fashion Through the Ages” in bright full color with descriptions. On the back of the newspaper pages is generally a vintage ad, but some photo features as well. The pages are dated 1929, 1930, and 1933, with the Godeys being dated 1865. It appears these pages have long remained in this envelope as the colors are nearly original to print date? The paper is brittle and fragile, with some browning, as to be expected for age. However, these large 21 x 16” Chicago Tribune Sunday feature pages can be unfolded to full size. An interesting peek into newspaper publishing of long ago. Would be a wonderful addition to the collection of a person interested in fashion! Please examine all photos closely for an accurate representation of these items. *Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
