Description: This was a promotional item that was likely given free to a customer for buying a Victor Talking Machine, Victrola or maybe even just for buying so many records to qualify. It's "Nipper", the world famous mascot used by RCA in later years, but the Victor Talking Machine Company at the time this was made. They sold the Victor Victrolas as well. This collectable give away item is made of chalk or plaster. Some of the ones that were made will just say Victor on them, but others, like this one, is promoting a specific dealer/company that was selling Victor items. It says B.J. Sheppard Company. From what I can find out on-line, they sold Victor Victrolas in Savannah, Georgia. There is a website on-line that shows a picture of what there showroom window looked like about 100 years ago. Pretty cool! This Nipper Dogs is about 4 1/4" tall and has a fair amount of wear to the paint, etc. due to handling over the years. See the pictures of the most accurate description of condition.Nipper needs a new home, so buy him if you want to be his new owner. Shipping is only $7. in the USA.
