Description: Antique Gebruder Thonet #3 Bentwood Chair circa 1855-1860,maybe a little later. One of the more elegant Thonet bentwood designs. Front leg is nicely detailed with the semi-heart shaped back and seat. Marked Thonet underneath with remnants of a paper label that are illegible. Either beech or maple/birch, finish seems to be original and it has nice warn patina. Structurally sound and with no visible repairs. Caning was torn and has been removed(it's spline and machine sheet caning, not hand caning so it should relatively inexpensive to redo, about $100.00).
