The color shifts as you turn the beads from a goldish-yellow to a yellow-amber color. The beads can be sewn onto fabric or used in jewelry. Our family's business bought these beads in the early 1970s from a company that had purchased them from a Boston shop, Allen's Boston Bead Store, when it went out of business circa 1930 and had held them in storage.
