Description: This is an antique Coro locket brooch c1919, and has the first scripted Coro maker’s mark. The Art Nouveau oval-shaped locket has an etched floral flourish that is polished gold (tone/filled?) on a matte gold background. The bow is also intricately etched with black enameling, taille d’ epergne accents. The locket opens and features a removable gold frame and clear plastic cover for photo, piece of hair, etc. The pin has the original c-clasp and is tight and secure. The entire piece measures 3” in length, and 1.5” in width. The metal on this piece has not been tested, but it is all non magnetic. As to be expected for a 100 + year old piece, there is some enamel loss, wear to the gold plating, and minor scratches consistent with age. Please review all photos as they are part of the description. This is truly a rare piece of antique costume jewelry that would make the perfect gift for the collector of these unique treasures.
