Description: Presented is a beautiful large American coin silver coffee or teapot from the 1850s. This piece displays fancy hand-chased oak branches and leaves with acorns throughout its entirety. The lid has a nice cast finial of an acorn with leaves. The handle and spout are also beautifully cast. One of the cartouche has been monogrammed “Beals”. The underside is marked pure coin along with the maker's mark for Boston silversmith S.T. Crosby. This piece is in great overall condition. The cartouche that has no monogram has been replaced. This removal was done by completely replacing the silver in that area. That way the silver was not thinned. It is quite difficult to notice this alteration, as it was well done and blends in to the border of the cartouche. There are a few minor dents around the front cartouche area. The decorations are crisp. There are no breaks and no other repairs.
