Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Brass Cherub Candle Sconce An old well-made candle sconce with cup extending from the figure of a cherub. I am calling it a candle sconce because I can find no other examples of this piece, so I am left to speculate – It reminds me of a candle sconce that would be in an old European church. The patina, quality, and hardware are consistent with it being early 20th century – likely antique. It is a robust and heavy piece of brass. The inside of the cup appears to have had another piece or insert that threaded into it – possibly a candlestick holder. As it is, it holds a tea light nicely, as shown. Alternately, the cup and extension bar can be removed, and this piece could be repurposed for something else. It is a magnificent little brass cherub and looks fantastic in a display cabinet as it is. Wingtip to wingtip, the cherub is 4.5” wide. Over depth, when mounted on a wall is approximately 4.7”.
