Description: Fine porcelain Rosenthal Bavarian footed centerpiece bowl set dated 1924. Luxuriously hand painted during the Art Deco Period, using a limited color palette of gold, pale luster green, and black line drawing. The motif that circles around the interior of the bowl is like a very stylized pumpkin with hand drawn vines and leaves connecting it to the next panel. The sides of the bowl are adorned in 24 karat gold. The five matching 8.5” dessert plates echo this theme. They fit snugly inside the centerpiece bowl. The bowl and plates have the Rosenthal Crown, Selb Bavaria mark. All pieces are signed and dated by the artist Willie Rabe 1924. Also included is a matching mayonnaise bowl with an under plate. It is a Limoges piece marked Limoges UC France, also signed and dated 1924. All pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. There is some wear of the luster design in the bottom of the centerpiece bowl. See photos.
