Description: Fine Antique American Pewter 8" Basin, Eagle Mark, NATHANIEL AUSTIN, Charlestown, MA., c. 1787 - 1800. This is a very fine and attractive pewter basin by an accomplished American maker who was active prior to the American revolution. This fine pewter basin has a worn eagle mark on the inside center of the bowl. This mark was used by Nathaniel Austin after the American Revolution when his shop in Charlestown, MA. reopened. This basin was made sometime after 1785 when he moved back to Charlestown, MA. and reopened his shop. This has a strong provenance as it comes from the pewter collection of Bette and Melvyn Wolf. This American pewter basin is offered with no reserve and a Buy It Now at less than half of it's prior price offering. SIZE: This fine basin measures 1 13/16" Deep x 7 7/8" Dia.. CONDITION: The condition is very good with some surface wear, minor scratching and dents to the bowl.
