Description: Antique Altered Canvasing Sample Book Picturesque Washington 1884 Scrap McKinley A very unusual book, an 1884 canvasing prospectusforPicturesque Washington byJoseph West Moore that has been altered and turned into a scrap book. Prospectus has sample bindings in the back cover and subscription pages at the rear. Newspaper articles and pictures as well as some die cuts and other ephemera has been pasted into the book including a memorial program for President McKinley from 1901. Other news articles, flowers, and hair have been placed in the pages but not pasted in. Prospectus subscription pages appear to have been used for correspondencetracking, several have been removed. Book measures approximately 10.25" x 7.25" and is in good vintage conditionwith some signs of age, use, discoloration, and wear, ephemera pasted and pressed to some pages, some pages removed, please see photographs for condition details.
