Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE... Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal, that of a family with ties to South Africa. A Madeirian family, having returned to the island after relocating to South Africa for employment a generation ago, returned with numerous native African mementos collected over a few decades. This listing is for an old, possibly antique African Spear Head with barbed shaft. It appears to be quite old, however, a while back, someone had over-painted it black. Traces of a wooden handle will be found in the shaft while the tip seems to list a bit to one side however, that could be in the making. The paint is wearing near the tip and the iron is peeking through. It measures approximately14 inches end to end. I have inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size.
