Description: This is for a fantastic antique primitive decorative advertising Lenox Soap wooden shipping box/crate. Has fabulous strong black stenciling & a wonderful original paper label. This great piece has wonderful bold black stenciling on three sides with the fourth having an original paper label advertising. One long side reads "LENOX SOAP LATHERS FREELY IN HARD WATER" With decorative fern sprigs. The other long side reads "JUST FITS THE HAND" with decorative fern sprigs, border & hand logo "Lenox". Paper label says "150 CAKES PROCTER & GAMBLE LENOX SOAP FACTORIES IVORY DALE,O KANSAS CITY NEW YORK CINCINNATI". Opposing short end wall reads "PROCTER & GAMBLE'S TRADE MARK." Box was sealed long ago with a beautiful satin varnish. It measures approximately 19 inches long by 15 1/4 inches wide & 8 3/8 inches height. It is in great antique condition with expected normal usage & wear marks throughout. Paper label has some scattered light loss & scratches.
