Description: This "History of Hawley, Pennsylvania" was published in 1927 to commemorate the centennial of the borough of Hawley. This celebration coincided with the completion of the Lake Wallenpaupack project. At this time Hawley was an important transportation and industrial hub in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The town was famous for fine glassware, silk products, woven goods, and other manufactured items. This book, now nearly 100 years old, covered the first 100 years of the town's history, civic organizations, and includes many advertisements for long gone businesses. It was a limited edition. Unfortunately, most of the copies were destroyed during a series of disastrous floods that hit the town between 1936 and 1955. The book is in Very Good Antique Condition. The front cover is loose but partially connected. There is some yellowing of the pages due to age. The text and photos are clear and sharp. Shipment will be by USPS Priority Mail.
