Description: Maker: A blue Booths Silicon China mark appears on the reverse of this lovely and rare octagonal plate. England's iconic china maker Booths was based in Tunstall, Staffordshire, from 1891 until 1948, when it merged with Colcloughs. In 1955, it became part of the short-lived Allied English Potteries along with Ridgways before eventually becoming part of the Royal Doulton group. The Booths mark was retired in the 1980s. Design and age: The pattern name "Mosaic Panel" appears on the back along with an impressed "Booths" mark that dates the plate's production to 1917. The pattern was produced from 1913 to 1917. Size: The plate is 10 inches wide and weighs 1 pound 6 ounces. Condition: It has no chips, cracks, significant scratches or repairs. There is wear to the edge, a nick on one corner and crazing throughout, as is common in this pattern. There are several dark spots and a discolored section on the back. These are shown in the photos with the red arrow and can be seen in the other photos. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
