Description: [zipedit] ; 2 volume antique setTITLE: Official Report of the Proceedings and Debates of the Convention Assembled at Salt Lake City on the Fourth Day of March, 1895, to Adopt a Constitution for the State of Utah , Volume I and Volume II DIMENSIONS: each approx 10" x 7 1/2" x 2011 pages total between both volumes.CONDITION: Leather bound antique books, please refer to listing photos, as the covers are worn, rubbed, soiled, stained, chipped, but solid. Interior age toned, otherwise unmarked by former owner. Laid in each in front of title page is a paper stating "Compliments of James T Hammond". (he was first Secretary of State for the state of Utah.) The reason the books are so solid, not hinge cracked as can be expected with such heavy old books, is that apparently someone rebound them at some time using the original covers. The text block belonging to Vol I is in the cover of Volume II, and vice versa. CONTENTS: both volumes are transcripts of the convention, and cover many subjects (see listing photos of pages for examples) Anyone interested in the state of Utah will find this a great addition to your personal library. If you have a relative/ancestor who was present and participating in this convention, it will be of particular interest to you! Names are with each quote, and the index section is particularly helpful in finding pages with quotes from specific people. Despite cover flaws, a worthy addition to your antique Utah library!!!
