Anthony Burgess A Clockwork Orange/Honey for the Bears 1st Modern Library Ed1968

Description: Acceptable, Ex-Lib, Modern Library 1st Edition from 1968 of two exceptional novels by the late, great Anthony Burgess. As you can see this is a well read copy. The pages are all clean and intact. A few spots of discoloration and a few creases are present. No markings though which is pretty good for a well-handled ex library copy. Ink markings do appear on the flyleafs however, along with ex library tags. The first 25 pages have begun to tear away from the spine at the top. The spine itself is a bit shaky there, the rest of the binding seems sound though. The original dust jacket is covered in protective plastic which was ostensibly taped down ages ago. I eschewed removing it for fear of damaging the boards. I did take a peek beneath it and said boards seem well intact, save for the top and bottom edges where some of the black cloth has rubbed off. As you can see the DJ shows a one-and-a-half-inch tear at the front, top right-hand edge. The rest should be decent considering the plastic cover. It appears the markings are on the protective cover and not the original DJ beneath. All of these things considered, I've decided to list this copy at a mere fraction of the book's normal asking price. Stored inside a clean, smoke free, book loving home.
