Item: Appears to be a vintage photograph of a cel & background setup that was not screen used for Walt Disney's Pinocchio (1940) Date: 1940 Description: Photographs an unusual set-up of this familiar scene; unlike the screen-used version actually presented within the finished film. In this transparency, the image captures the full scope of Pinocchio's growing nose (a result of telling lies)... including the nest of birds that also features Jiminy Cricket. However the finished film features two small blue birds... while the colors in this image are decidedly different, utilizing entirely different colors for the birds. As photographed for archival purposes... with clear sleeve and copyright mark indicating "MCMXL Walt Disney Productions // World Rights Reserved. The scene features Pinocchio trapped in a cage as Stromboli's puppet show travels in his gypsy wagon.... when the Blue Fairy arrives to save both Pinocchio and Jiminy. As Annette's disease progressed, she and Glen had redoubled their efforts to fund the critical research that is needed to fight all neurological diseases, including multiple sclerosis, the disease that Annette had so valiantly fought for more than two decades. Their relentless struggle against the disease served as an inspiration that can motivate Annette's friends and fans to participate in providing the financial support that this ongoing research requires. Perhaps Glen said it best: "I want to touch their hearts so they will go out there and help us raise some money. I am going to fulfill her wish to help find a cause and a cure." Glen faithfully cared for Annette until her passing on April 8, 2013. After Glen's passing on February 12, 2018, the Research Fund's Board of Directors stepped forward to carry on the work begun by Annette and Glen nearly three decades ago.
