Description: This is a lovely silver necklace. Three of its six beads are made of ancient Roman glass pieces that are mounted in silver. The glass pieces are fragments of ancient Roman vessels. These were found in the area of Israel and Palestine. They date from around the 1st to the 5th century. One side of each glass piece has a cool, blueish cast of color and the other side has a warmer, yellowish cast of color. (See photos.) I believe that my mother received this necklace (new) in the 1980s or 1990s. It measures about 18 3/4 inches long. The coin in the photos is a good size and color reference. The silver chain is very fine and delicate. It's stamped 925 (sterling). NOTE: I assume that the beads are sterling silver as well but I don't see any stamps. The necklace is in excellent condition. Please view the photos. Please let me know if you have questions or would like to see more photos. Thanks! Kat
