She is the daughter of Jacques Paul, clothing tailor, and his wife, Élisabeth Bordel.Sister and student of the famous dancer Paul, nicknamed the “Aerial”, she started in Lyon, on the stage of the Théâtre des Célestins, then in Bordeaux, before being admitted to the Paris Opera Ballet, where she debuted on July 17, 1820 alongside her brother. The following year she married the dancer Laurent François Alexandre Montessu (Paris, c. 1795 - Asnières, 1861).She created the role of La Fille mal gardee (1828) and that of Manon Lescaut by Jean-Pierre Aumer (1830).She was principal dancer until 1836, when she was retired. However, she continued to perform here and there, notably in Amsterdam in 1840, with André Isidore Carey.She died in 1877 in Anet and was buried in Asnières, where her husband was buried.
