Description: Anchor Pottery Trenton NJ White Granite Ironstone Plate 1918 We are pleased to offer this lovely vintage ironstone dinner plate manufactured by the Anchor Pottery Company of Trenton, New Jersey in the late 1800s. This factory (1893-1926) was purchased by the famous Fulper pottery in 1926. This plate features one large spray on the rim that spills over into the center and two smaller sprays of roses on the rim opposite. The pink and yellow flowers with teal green leaves appear to have been hand painted. The roses with leaves are very detailed, even down to the thorny brown stems. This plate measures 9 1/4" in diameter. It has the black inkstamp of an anchor with the name of the pottery written above the anchor, initials "J E N" below with " Trenton NJ" below that and "White Granite" written in a banner. This mark is referenced in Miller's "Pottery & Porcelain Marks" by Gordon Lang as being registered in 1918. It has some to-be-expected wear on the 22k gold rim edge and overall crazing - all very forgivable at this age.
