DESCRIPTION Beautiful American pewter teapot or coffee pot with touchmark reading "X / No. 7 / BOARDMAN / & HART / N. YORK." The "X / No. 7" indicates the model or production number. Hinged lid. Applied handle. Dome top lid with bone finial. Steam vent hole beneath the finial. Impressed band decorations around the body. Sherman and Thomas Boardman began working together around 1810. Lucius Hart joined the company in 1827, and it was renamed Boardman & Hart, until the company dissolved in 1847. CONDITION Overall excellent. Very minor wear and small dents commensurate with age.
