The "X / 5" probably indicates the model or production number. Hinge lid. Applied ebonized double scroll handle. Conical top finial. Steam vent hole beneath the finial. Molded band decorations. Sherman and Thomas Boardman began working together around 1810. Lucius Hart joined the company in 1827, and it was renamed Boardman & Hart, until the company dissolved in 1847. CONDITION Overall excellent. Very minor wear commensurate with age. Some wear on the ebonized handle. Rich dark pewter patina (all visible in the images).
