American Brilliant Cut Glass Dresser Box, Unger Bros. Sterling Silver Lid

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely American Brilliant cut glass dresser box with Unger Bros. chased Sterling Silver lid, c. 1880-1900. Silver lid has a slightly dome shaped top and features a wide chased floral design around the outer edge in high relief with faint monogram "J" in center top. The glass section has deep cuttings and the cuttings cover the entire lower body and base. Silver marked with the Unger Bros. trademark stamp and "Sterling, 925 Fine". The Unger Bros. shop operated in Neward NJ from 1872-1914 and were known for their beautiful sterling silver items. Measures 2 7/8" high (to top of glass jar), 3 1/2" high (to top of lid) with a 2 7/8" diameter opening. Weighs just under 1 pound as shown and silver lid weighs 25 grams. The glass section is in excellent Estate condition with no noted chips, cracks or repairs. We found no tiny dings on the cut edges, however, there may be a faint nick in the design that we have missed. The sterling silver lid is in very good to excellent condition with only one very faint ding below the engraved initial and another just inside the beading on the top, both of which are minor and considered consistent with minor wear/handling.
