Description: When I picked this up as part of an estate auction lot, it was covered in tarnish and didn't look like much. I was amazed at the detail in the pattern on the inside of the basket that was visible once the tarnish was removed. The interior of the basket is wrapped with an intricate raised pattern of alligators, dragonflies, tropical looking birds, and plants against an overall honeycomb background pattern. There are some spots on the inside bottom of the basket where the Silverplate has worn through. Some of the small flowers on the handle are missing and one of the clover leaves is broken. The interior design looks great! Measures 10 3/8" x 8 3/4" from the top face of the basket. The bottom is marked Millertown Plate Co Quadruple Plate. 1817. Hard White Metal. I did not completely clean it up. I could still use some additional polishing. Please see photos.
