Amateur Great Francis Ouimet Wins the 1913 U.S. Open & Golf First Day Cover

Description: This wonderful picture collage salutes that great Amateur golfer Francis Ouimet who won the U.S. Open in 1913 defeating the British Greats Harry Vardon and Ted Ray. The collage features a picture of Francis Ouiment as well as a copy of the line score of the tournament. Highlighting the collage is the First Day Cover of the stamp issued to honor Francis Ouimet as one of America's great golfers. On the day a stamp is issued, it is only available in the city where it is issued and the Post Office certifies this by canceling the stamp “First Day of Issue.” The Golf stamp was issued in Brookline, Mass. where Ouimet won the US Open in 1913. The size of this matted picture is 11" x 14" and will fit any 11" x 14" inch frame. (a standard size). I make all these collages by hand. As a history buff as well as a lover of old movies and all types of sports, the key to each picture is the research behind it. Deciding what movies should go with a particular star or what game or series would best reflect a certain sports hero is crucial to a successful collage. I then design each picture individually and lay out the design on the mat. Finally, I cut each mat based on that design and assemble the collage. Shipping and Handling is free for the United States.
