Description: Wonderful original 1930's WPA depression era signed lithograph print by artist Harry Gottleib (1895 - 1992). Well known for his strong social realism prints and silk screen printer, and a member of the NYC Graphic Arts WPA program in the 1930's. From a limited edition of only 25 or less prints made. Represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, The Whitney Museum and the Smithsonian. Print is titled "Beauty Academy" and showcases beauticians learning and setting hair of their customers (or fellow students.) Many WPA prints depict the darker side of the depression; works like this showcase the brighter side of workers getting trained and learning beautician skills. Framed under glass, off-white enamel. Print is excellent clean condition, matted. Image size is 12" x 10"; framed size is 19" x 17". Some light wear to the frame paint.
