It was written in response to a letter from Robert R. Pattrick of Glendale, California, who wrote "kind words about Pogo." Mr. Kelly writes that he "never thought of Albert's birthday being April 1st. However at times he does lead one to believe he could be the reason for April Fool's day." He also addresses Mr. Pattrick's request for a Pogo original. Included is a second letter on Post-Hall stationery dated July 17, 1952 to Mr. Pattrick written and signed "Walt Kelly" by a secretary.
