Description: Wonderful plein air painting by Alaskan artist Don Kolstad. This snapshot image of Goose Lake (outside Anchorage, Alaska) was painted in acrylics late May 2007. Don Kolstad was born in Southern California in 1952. In 1982 Don decided to try a career as a full time artist and Alaska seemed the most beautiful place on earth to work as a painter. Some of Don’s successes have been - President of the Alaska Watercolor Society, Has had numerous one-man shows around the state of Alaska and West Coast. Commissions over the years include: The Alaska Railroad, Alaska Magazine, Designs for a women’s clothing line for Nordstrom, At the Anchorage Museum of Natural History and Art in November of 2006 Don’s work was part of an auction of "Great Masters of the North". Measures - frame 18” long x 15” high, board 12” long x 9” high Condition is good, some wear on the frame.
