Description: This vintage Akai 1710 Reel to Reel Tape Recorder is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike. This four-track stereophonic unit is made in Japan and comes with speakers for an immersive audio experience. It is in excellent working condition and has been well-maintained over the years. An added value are two (2) Akai SS-20 side speakers and cables. I have cleaned, lubricated the unit plus demagnetized the heads. I also replaced the pinch roller and run capacitor. One small issue when using the rewind function, need to slow with a finger, brake not fully functional. Given a few nicks and scratches all other functions work well for a 60 year old piece of electronics. I have several of these machines now, really hate to part with this one.
