Description: Affliction Horiyoshi III Heroes and Demons Heroes and demons I have the largest collection of Horiyoshi heroes and demons shirts. This is my closet collection not the thousands I have in cases. My closet collection has all new or excellent items. The heroes and demons were all handmade shirts. No 2 are alike, they have a handful of colors and patterns that got produced in large scale but there are plenty in my collection that are rare find. There are also a few shirts that are known to go with this collection but not Horiyoshi tattoo. Both quality and special hard to find shirts are listed. In order to try and post faster I am grouping them together. I do have some with a bit more use and price will reflect accordingly. If you do not see a certain pattern or size you might be looking for it doesn’t hurt to ask. I have plenty that are not listed. If you need to see more photos or have questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Interesting facts about Horiyoshi III: Born: Yoshihito Nakano on March 9, 1946. Nakano (Horiyoshi) specializes in Japanese traditional full-body tattoos, or "suits," called Irezumi or Horimono. Nakano was inspired when he saw a Yakuza (Japanese gangster) with a full-body tattoo in a public bathhouse when he was a young boy. This inspired him to visit legendary tattoo artist Yoshitsugu Muramatsu, also known as Shodai Horiyoshi. Nakano got his own tattoo from Horiyoshi II, Shodai Horiyoshi's son and lead to Nakano becoming Horiyoshi I's apprentice at age 25. Horiyoshi III is the second tattooist to be granted that honorific title of "Horiyoshi", which passes from master to apprentice. The tattooist affixation Hori means to engrave or "to carve.? Muramatsu bestowed this title upon Nakano in 1971. Horiyoshi III's work can cost tens of thousands of dollars. His work is now limited to finishing existing clients' tattoos.
