Description: ANTIQUE Meridan 7 Cup Footed Teapot A gorgeous piece from the late 1800s!Look no further for the prettiest teapot! This gorgeous copper 7-cup teapot is a product of the Aesthetic Movement, and is replete with pheasants and woodpeckers, and other mixed Asian and Western motifs in repousse! This gorgeous pot was likely once silverplated, but has mostly taken on a warm copper patina!This piece is signed on the base with the Meridan logo. The patent of the piece is 1874, and 1896 is also stamped on the bottom. It was likely made between those two years.Condition:This antique teapot is in VERY GOOD condition! It might have been plated at one time, but much of that has rubbed of, replaced by heavily patinaed copper (which is attractive in its own right!). The piece shows no structural damage that would prevent use, and the inner mesh is in place and should function properly. The lid finial might have had an ornament at one time, but this is unknown if it did or did not.
