Here is our Demon Blood Sword along with Jake as a shield, a perfect duo for any hero or heroine to wield. inn's Demon Blood Sword measuring out 17" in length and 4" at its widest part of the hilt, and our own take of Jake the Dog formed into a shield measuring 14" in diameter. The wood is approx. ¼” thick and there are 2 layers of wood on both sword and shield. There are straps on the back for the child to wear over their arm. They are very lightweight with both weighing approx. 1-1/2 lb. They are spray painted so I would not recommend to any age where the child still puts anything in their mouth. There is no end to the age limit but obviously they may seem too small for a larger teenager but still be perfect for a petite adult or simply looking for a wall accent. This unique accessory is handmade and homemade by a small family business in South Carolina, USA. We make all of our product from a soft ¼” thick pine or birch wood; whatever we can purchase at the best price. We then layer the levels which creates a more solid yet lightweight replica (*although we do not suggest ‘LARPing’ as this may cause the product to chip). The layered levels also provide us the opportunity to paint the different colors that is needed for each replica. We spend time prepping the wood for painting and priming the edges since this is the hardest part in getting the paint to adhere. We use glue and micro nails to bring all of the parts together. Some of our products take more time than others to prep and our labor is dependent upon the layers of wood needed, the detail on the painted pieces and the hand painting that is often required.
