It was used in combat, mainly during the Vietnam War. It was created as a response to the US military's demand for a COIN plane - a plane that fights enemy partisan units. The A-37 was powered by two General Eletric J85-GE-17A engines. A characteristic feature of the aircraft was the arrangement of the crew seats next to each other, unusual for this class of machines. One of the greatest advantages of the A-37 in relation to the type of missions performed was undoubtedly the ability to operate from very short, provisionally prepared, field runways. Since December 1994, the A-37 has also been in the service of the South Korean air acrobatics unit - Black Eagles.
