It comes with a k type thermocouple that can operate up to 2300F (1300C) continuously, or 2400F for short period. The thermometer has a programmable alarm and a built-in buzzer, which will beep if setting temperature is reached. Its alarm can be programmed for either high limit or low limit. The gauge is powered by 12V DC through an AC adapter (included) for continuous operation. Peak temperature and the time when peak temperature is reached can be recorded. Display unit can be set to either Celsius or Fahrenheit The probe is made of gauge 11 wire, 12 inch long. It can be shorten by user with wire cutter. The standard probe is designed for use with electric kilns only.
