Description: A large and impressive porcelain figurine of a standing Schnauzer dog produced by Rosenthal (Germany). Fully hallmarked, dating production to circa 1957. The gorgeous detail and decoration of this figurine speaks to the quality of work produced by Rosenthal. The dog has lovely color shading and detail, and outstanding expression. ThIs large piece measures 7 3/4" tall by 8 1/2" long. This figurine is from my personal dog collection and has been kept behind glass in a display cabinet since I purchased it in 1988. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations as examined under black light and lighted magnification. There is a small rectangular area behind the front legs, under the ribcage, where kiln supports were in place during firing at the factory. This is typical of larger figurines.
