Description: A Journey Through Thought by Dr Tahlib McMicheaux, Naheemah McMicheaux, Janelle McMicheaux Estimated delivery 3-12 business days Format Paperback Condition Brand New Description A Journey Through Thought is for those readers who would like to momentarily see the world from the perspective of the less fortunate. This book is a look at family, life, and negritude through quotes, poems, and short stories, and it asks the reader to experience life through the eyes of other cultural groups in America. Each entry is written to push the reader to the limit of their imagination and ability to immerse themselves from another cultural viewpoint. This book touches on some of the important "whys" within our society that remain unanswered and continue to be swept under the rug waiting for people of reason to come together seeking ways to resolve the racial divide within our country. Even though these "whys" may not be answered in this book, they are creatively addressed to help the reader begin discussion-seeking solutions. Some of the "thoughts" espoused in this work are very candid. However, if we are going to have open discussions with those who have affected, assaulted, and even perpetrated the discord that ensnares us, they must own their actions if change is ever going to take hold for people living together as universally, divinely created beings. Culture, religion, tradition, poverty, and bigotry are just a few of the hot topics broached in this book to stimulate thought. A Journey Through Thought is a fresh approach to addressing some very poignant topics that have caused a great deal of racial divide in America. This read will stir the soul of the reader emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually, challenging the mind to see life through the lenses of those less fortunate. Today we read, tomorrow we discuss, and the day after, we affect change. Author Biography Dr. Tahlib McMicheaux attended El Camino College, Los Angeles City College, College of the Desert, California Baptist College, Southern Christian Bible College, and Sacramento Theological Seminary where he graduated magna cum laude. He holds a Doctorate and Masters Degree in Theology. He is a pastor/teacher and a National Certified Life Coach, and he is dean of the Sacramento Theological Seminary. Dr. McMicheaux is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and is also listed in the Whos Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, 1994-1995. He is the founder of Igniting the Fire Movement--The Changing Face of Evangelism, and he is one of Coachella Valleys distinguished community advocates - a seasoned pastor/teacher and life coach. He is a recognized leader in pastoral circles for his in-depth teachings and thought-provoking, life-changing sermons. His workshops are equally stimulating and challenging. Widely viewed as a visionary, his creative energy has been sought after by congress, governors, and local elected officials. As a pastor and community leader, he is one of a select few community advocates who have been asked to work with communities of all ethnic backgrounds in and around the Southern California area. As a community activist Dr. McMicheaux has been an advocate for the disenfranchised and under-represented in America and throughout our local communities for over 25 years, speaking at rallies, town halls, and, of course, churches. He was called on to speak at one of the most prestigious colleges in New York, addressing the state of homelessness in the Coachella Valley. Dr. McMicheauxs journey through life can be described in one word-tenacious. Born with two strikes-a learning disability called dyslexia and being a person of color-he chose to defy the odds. With over thirty awards and certificates recognizing and honoring his work as a community leader and activist, you can see by his many accomplishments that such barriers were only momentary obstacles which he chose to rise above. When asked about these accomplishments he will say his work is just beginning. I celebrate the man who wrote this book because he happens to be my husband and best friend.
