With a colorless cut glass font with cut honeycomb-type pattern between punties ( maybe Baccarat?) with brass covering, fitted in a large cast brass base, basket-form font holder with heavy foliage ornamentation and figural snake/serpents wrapped around the cage supports, smooth and paneled stem, circular form foot with foliage and flowers, supported with four stylized short feet. Fitted with a James Hinks and Sons duplex burner with elevator feature, period colorless chimney, and an amberina quilted shade, ruffled and crimped rim. Late 19th/early 20th century. 30 1/2" H to top of shade, 22" H to top of collar, 8 1/2"D foot.ConditionExcellent condition, expected minute wear.
