Description: I purchased this awesome watch from the daughter of the original owner. Her father was Raymond Henry Parshall. She wrote his name and birthdate down on that blue post it note for me to look up his war record online. Ray Parshall was with the 44th Bomb Group (The Flying Eightballs) and the 506th Bomb Squadron. He was stationed in Shipdam, England. The watch did not run when I purchased it, so I had it repaired and replaced the yellowed plastic crystal at that time with a new glass one. That was back in April of 2021. The gentleman that repaired it at the time remarked that it was one of the more original watches he had seen, parts wise. I wore it on and off until it stopped again. I just had it gone through and serviced a second time this month. Receipt dated 11/6/24. The band is a Bonklip style, but I cannot find any maker marks on it. I found a treasure trove of information online, including copies of Raymond's travel diary showing each of his 28 missions! Some of which I found broken down on another website with the names of the rest of his crew and some mission details, (see photos). I also found a pic of Raymond, as well as a pic of one of the two planes associated with his missions, the "Miss Marion." Print outs and recent repair receipt will accompany the watch. Elgin watch serial comes out to est. production year of 1943. Raymond was in from '44-'45. Time to let it go to a new caretaker. Thanks for looking!
