Description: Hello and Welcome to The Textile Trunk! ~ Please follow us on Instagram we are @textiletrunk Spectacular! This quilt is a deaccession from the Packwood House Museum and there is a label sewn to the back with their name and the item number! The museum is now closed down.~ This quilt dates from the early 1800's however the fabric used as the border I date to the 18th century, England. I understand why they acquired this beauty! It's a fabulous work of art This quilt uses fabric that was most likely printed in England along the borders and the stars and quilting most likely America! ~ This quilt uses color and composition beautifully ~ the quality of the work is unreal, I simply can't imagine how much time went into making this lovely quilt! ~ The indigo blue stars are polka dotted using an indigo resist technique ~ The cotton batting is very light weight ~ It's 100% hand stitched and hand quilted. The stars fabric was dyed using indigo blue ~ this textile would be wonderful hung as wall art or lovely to use as a quilt! :)) MEASUREMENTS : This wonderful quilt measures : 96 inches by 89 inches CONDITION : This quilt is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. It's in remarkable condition! There are a few pale marks on the back, otherwise only light signs of time and use ~ it's quilt remarkable! EQ 55
