95% Fabricated Keichousaurus Reptile Fossil-China Triassic Period

Description: This is a mostly fabricated fossil of a Keichousaurus in a rock matrix. Keiochousaurus were marine reptiles from China that lived during the Triassic Period around 240 million years ago. Keichousaurus specimens are the one species for which ridiculously super high-end fakes exist. This fossil started out as an original but with rough preservation and preparation with some bones being real such as the femurs, some ribs, and vertebrae. Most have been painted over. The fossil is 95% fabricated with paint and the matrix has been repaired. The matrix measures 10" x 7" x .25" thick (approximate) and weighs 2.8 lbs. The Keicho measures 5.125" long.
