Description: This Item is a Harmonic balancer installation tool that is used to press the harmonic balancer back onto the crankshaft. This can be used on all LT1 engines from 92-97 and can be used on all small block chevy engines such as 283, 302, 305, 327, 350, and 400 that have a 7/16"-20 pitch threaded crankshaft. The heavy duty quality materials that I use for this installation tool are superior. Material specs are as follows: Nuts and washers are (grade 8 SAE equivalent) and the 7/16"-20 threaded shaft is a heavy duty stress proof rod that is engineered for this purpose and has a Rockwell hardness of C35 and shear rating of 125000psi. These are superior engineering standards. I use only the best material out there with a shear rating of 125000psi. Dont use anything inferior as it will only leave you with problems. With the quality of this tool you wont have to worry about breaking the threads off in the crank or leaving your threads from another tool or bolt inside the crank threads when they shear off from using an inferior product. I have sold hundreds of these with superior results, so buy with confidence, and this tool is alot cheaper than the same $90 tool GM sells. Using the original bolt to press the harmonic balancer back on is a really bad idea. Dont do it. When using the original bolt the stress is on only a few threads which can lead you to ruin your crankshaft threads. When using this tool you simply thread the tool into the crankshaft, slide the washers on, then turn the nut to press the harmonic balancer back on to the crankshaft. All of the stress is on all of the threads of the crankshaft instead of just a few. Remove tool and install and torque original bolt.
