Description: This is a Gorgeous Antique Cut glass Bowl- great for use or display. Measures: 8" wide by 3-1/2" tall . It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1915) which is still over 100 years old now! This is an exceptionally bright, clear, sparkly, and heavy blank.Documentation/ Authentication: This was cut by J Hoare in the "Crosby" pattern. The Crosby pattern can be seen on a basket & an oil on p.114 of the Black cover early J Hoare catalog reprint. The bowl shape can also be seen in the catalog as "No. 8883" shape bowl. This bowl is a fully blown and very thick blank with great weight, clarity & quality. But it has a blown out and crimped in shape rim where it alternates flaring out and tapering in for 12 ruffles around the side. Very early shape with a rare pattern that makes a bowl like this a piece any collector will love.Condition: It is over 120 years old- and for its age it is in good condition. I went around the top rim and only found some of that microscopic contact nip roughness that is typical and so small that no one can see it. No missing or partially missing teeth, they are all there. This bowl is in gorgeous condition for display or use. Minor scratching on bottom from age which is expected patina.
