Description: 70s Mid Century MCM Gothic Hanging PENDANT SWAG Light w/Amber OPTIC SWIRL Globe Here is a really cool looking hanging lamp and chain assembly with a swirled amber glass globe in sort of an inverted pear shape. This is not a painted lamp shade, this is the true glass color. I think this style is called Gothic or Spanish Revival influence. This lamp features an inline rotary type switch for on/off control. Both switch and AC power plug are in great shape. The metal strap frame measures about 8 inches across, overall length end to end of the metal frame is about 22 inches. The actual glass globe is about 7 inches in diameter and 10 inches in length. Has a super long swag chain and cord (17 or more feet) with a small inline dial rotary switch, looks original to the piece, all wiring looks original to the piece. The bulb used during testing will not be included as I don't like to ship them, but its a standard base low wattage type, easy to find. Pretty nice overall condition and in complete working order, some wear and gold color loss on the perforated metal diffuser, some light scratches and spotty places here and there on the amber glass globe, may clean up better but not too bad as it is, metal frame assembly is in great shape with little rust, black paint is fine, chain sections are nice and basically rust free, no damage anywhere that I see, the electrical connections are still really quite good and solid, outlet plug in good usable condition and I had no hesitation in plugging it in for testing. Lamp will be disassembled completely into its various pieces to ease shipping requirements, will be very easy and straightforward to reassemble, no tools should be required. See breakdown for packing as shown in a couple photos. Obviously, these lamps are not antiques, however, they are still desirable today as decorator/designer pieces and are highly sought after by the many people that follow the trends of the 60’s and 70’s. This is definitely an earlier one as it has a non-polarized plug that is original to lamp and wiring. Please see all photos provided as they are the best overall indication on condition.
