DESCRIPTION: Vintage dining chair set in Mid Century Modern style. By JOHN WIDDICOMB CO. 4 side chairs and 2 captain. Parson style. Solid wood frame with upholstery. Dark finish. Rubber strap seat suspension. Steel glides. All original. I am not sure what wood the bases are made of. Possibly mahogany. Maker's marks: all chairs retain original metal tag "John Widdicomb Co. - Makers of Fine Furniture - Grand Rapids"; chairs are additionally marked by hand "573" on the cambric; additionally stamped "531" on the underside chair frame. 1950s or 60s I believe. CONDITION: These chairs exhibit typical use-related wear and typical age-related issues and they will require professional reupholstery and ideally professional refinishing. Typical age-related condition issues include: hardening and disintegration of the foam cushioning; hardening of the rubber strap seat suspension. Typical use-related wear includes: scattered small scuffs, dings, scratches and rubs to the legs. The upholstery exhibits typical light wear and the cambric (underside) may be torn or loose in places. Otherwise these chairs are generally in very good original condition with no damage and no significant wear. No restorations / repairs / touch ups. No breaks, cracks, splits, chips.
