The spot-on will do it eventually as the fleas die off when they jump on your pet, but will not be immediate relief for the suffering pet. Ever wonder if what you are getting is authentic? Well, sadly there are a few sellers selling counterfeit Bayer Advantage ll cat/dogand K9 Advantix, and in some cases at very attractive prices. You can protect yourself and pet by knowing the signs of a fake. 1. The lot numbers on the foil should match the numbers on the tube itself. 2. But even if they match, if the foil is not neatly sealed on both ends, likely it is a fake. The sealed band going across the back of the foil should not be more than 1/4" wide. And/Or the foil feels flimsy/thin and is shinier compared to the authentic. Also the ends of the foil seem to be ripped off an aluminum roll or have a straight flat cut, whereas the authentic has subtle waves. 3. If you are purchasing a box of packs, also make sure the lot numbers on the bottom of the box match those on the foil and tube. 4. If you are already familiar with the Bayer Advantage ll/K9 Advantix, note that the tubes are also not exactly sized as the authentic. Also note that the formula smells different. 5. Some of the boxes of the counterfeit have ink smudges on the surface that are obvious. 6. The flap of the box is also sealed differently. The authentic has close "stitching" whereas the fake does not. I will provide you with images for comparison upon request. Whoever you order from, inspect it before applying it to your pet. If any or all signs I've stated above are present, then likely it is fake and you should contact Bayer and eBay. This applies to all Advantage ll for cats/dogs and K9 Advantix ll.
