Clarence Linden Crabbe II (1908 – 1983), commonly known by his stage name Buster Crabbe, was an American competitive swimmer and movie actor. He won the 1932 Olympic gold medal for 400-meter freestyle swimming event before breaking into acting. He starred in a number of popular Tarzan and Western films in the 1930s and 1940s. He also played the title role in the serials Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. In these six Crabbe stars as Billy the Kid in two and Billy Carson the other four. The Billy the Kid movies are Billy the Kid’s Round-up (1941) and Fugitive of the Plains (1943). He stars as Carson in: The Drifter (1944), Rustler’s Hideout (1945), Ghosts of Hidden Valley (1946) and Gentlemen with Guns (1946). 4 are 9 ¼” x 13 1/2'”, 1 is 8 ¼” x 12” and the last is 7” x 13”.
