Description: Presented is a fabulous set of 6 Portuguese silver table, serving, or large soup spoons. These spoons date to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The spoons have a classical design, with decoratively ribbed handles. Each of the spoons is monogrammed with LF in elegant script. These are well made silver pieces with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. The spoons are in great condition. The designs are nice and crisp. There are no dents, no splits, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each of the spoons is hallmarked on the stem with a Portuguese large article guarantee for the city of Oporto, guaranteeing 833 purity. This seated boar mark was used between 1886-1938. The spoons also have a mark that looks like a cluster of grapes, which we do not recognize, possibly a maker's mark. Each spoon is about 7 1/2 inches long. The total weight is 344.8 grams or 12.2 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
