NOT ONLY DID ACE FRANK McCAULEY 61ST FS, 56TH FG SCORE ALL HIS 5.5 AERIAL VICTORIES IN JUST 46 MISSIONS, BUT THE AMAZING PART IS HE DID IT ALL IN THE SAME P-47 THUNDERBOLT "RAT RACER" HV-Z. GORDON BATDORF - WAS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL CADRE MEMBERS OF THE 56TH FG. IN 14 MONTHS HE FLEW 65 MISSIONS WITH THE 63RD FS, 56TH FG. HE IS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL PILOTS THAT SAILED OVER WITH ZEMKE AND SERVED FROM DEC 1943 - AUG 1944, BEFORE BEING TRANSFERRED TO 20TH AIR TRANSPORT.
